Anthony Joshua Discharged from Medical Facility in Nigeria Following Deadly Road Accident

Olympic gold medalist Anthony Joshua has been discharged from hospital, Nigerian authorities stated on late Wednesday. The 36-year-old was part of a serious road collision in the Lagos area on the 29th of December, a devastating event that took the lives of two of his valued colleagues.

Under Observation for Minor Injuries

Joshua had remained in the hospital while recuperating from non-critical injuries, his management team stated earlier on Monday. The Lagos state commissioner for information, Gbenga Omotoso, announced via a post online that Joshua was deemed clinically fit to “recuperate at home”.

“The boxer and his mother were at the funeral home in Lagos this afternoon to offer their condolences to his two friends who passed away as they were being made ready for the journey back,” Omotosho said.

Remembering the Victims

Those who lost their lives were confirmed to be Latif Ayodele, a personal trainer, and Sina Ghami, a conditioning specialist. The official further stated that the champion was filled with sorrow and deeply emotional over the passing of his two close friends.”
