Barça Ready for Inaugural Game at Partially Completed Camp Nou this Saturday
The club confirmed they are set to host at the partially upgraded Camp Nou over the weekend. They will welcome the Basque side in the Spanish league 30 months following their departure so building work could begin.
“We’ve dreamed about the return. Now, it’s here. We’re back home. Back at Spotify Camp Nou.”
The stadium will not be at full capacity but 45,401 spectators can be present under the licence granted. When completed, the Camp Nou is due to hold almost 105,000 spectators, up from the previous 99,000. Barça announced finished work included a new players’ tunnel along with upgraded changing facilities.
Stadium Testing
Barça organized a public practice inside the stadium on 7 November. The club said they were hoping for permission from European football’s governing body for their upcoming Champions League fixture versus the German side in December at Camp Nou. Their recent games have been held at the Olympic Stadium.
