Clair Obscur Dominates at the 2025's Gaming Honors
The 43rd yearly Golden Joystick Awards took place on Thursday, and in a stunning show, Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 claimed the title of the biggest winner. This breakout role-playing game from Sandfall Interactive won the prestigious Top Game award, along with honors for Outstanding Narrative and Excellence in Visuals.
Adding to the developer's triumph, the skilled cast also were honored with individual awards. Jennifer English received Best Lead Performer for her role as Maelle, while Ben Starr earned Supporting Performance Award for his role as Verso. Additionally, Sandfall Interactive itself was honored as Best Development Team. Overall, Clair Obscur and its creative team achieved 7 awards during the show.
Additional notable winners included Ghost of Yōtei, which won Best Audio Design and Top Console Title, and Hollow Knight: Silksong, receiving Top Self-Published Indie and PC Game of the Year. It is important to note, the bulk of Golden Joystick Awards are chosen by the audience, with only 4 special—Critics Choice, Rising Star, Hall of Fame, and Streamers’ Choice—judged by critics.
