Comedian and author David Walliams lost his contract with publishing house.

The comedian

Best-selling young adult author and TV personality David Walliams is no longer with his longtime publishing house, as confirmed by the firm.

An official for the company said: "After careful consideration, and following the appointment of its recently appointed chief executive, HarperCollins UK has decided not to publish additional books by David Walliams."

It has been reported that the decision was made after an review of allegations of questionable actions involving young women.

The publisher did not confirm the reasons for its decision, stating: "It is not our policy to discuss private personnel issues."

An Illustrious Publishing History

Walliams stands as a most prolific writers for young readers, with sales exceeding over six tens of millions of copies globally in dozens of tongues.

The debut children's novel from Walliams, *The Boy in the Dress*, was released through HarperCollins in 2008.

Several of his books, including *Gangsta Granny* and *Billionaire Boy*, have found new life as TV movies.

He has published in excess of 40 works altogether, which features a holiday title called *Santa & Son*, which came out under HarperCollins in October.

Television and Literature

His initial claim to fame came on the broadcast sketch program *Little Britain* and has additionally received National Television Awards for his duties as an arbiter on *Britain's Got Talent*.

He received an OBE several years ago honoring his contributions to the charitable sector and arts community.

The publisher's decision comes after the naming of Kate Elton as HarperCollins UK's recent CEO this past October.
