Trump Business Attempted to Bring In Almost 200 Employees on Visas in 2025

The former president’s family business accelerated its recruitment of overseas employees on temporary visas this period, while his government was creating barriers for other businesses attempting to do the same, a report published recently stated.

According to information from the US Department of Labor, the Trump Organization aimed to bring in at least 184 overseas employees in the coming year for short-term roles at the US president’s Mar-a-Lago resort, two golf clubs and his Virginia winery.

The quantity of requests for temporary work visas covering workers including servers, clerks, cleaning staff, kitchen staff and agricultural laborers was the record filed by the organization, and increased from over 120 in 2021, when his presidency concluded.

It was also the fifth instance in a decade that Trump had attempted to hire more than 100 foreign employees for seasonal jobs at Mar-a-Lago, based on labor statistics.

The disclosure comes amid a crackdown on immigration laws by his government that has involved the introduction of a substantial charge on H1-B visas; extra scrutiny of the actions of the 55 million people who possess American work permits; and restrictive new rules for international scholars and reporters.

In total, the Trump Organization aimed to hire 566 overseas workers over the period Trump has been in the presidency, from his first term and during 2025.

Significantly, Trump was questioned by some in the GOP this period for comments defending the need for foreign workers when a company was unable to find people with “particular skills” to fill certain positions.

“You can’t just say a nation is entering, going to invest $10bn to construct a facility, and going to recruit individuals off an jobless roster who have been unemployed in years, and they’re going to start making their defense systems. It doesn’t work that effectively,” he stated to a interviewer after she suggested that overseas employees lower the wages of US workers.

The administration declined a request for comment, and the business did not provide an answer to an request for information.
