The incident led to the temporary shutdown of the main airport tunnel and the Terminal 3 car park.

Formal charges have been brought against two men related to a suitcase robbery where a substance thought to be pepper spray led to people being hurt at the major London air hub.

Tyrone Richards, 31, and Anton Clarke-Butcher, 24, now face two counts of robbery and two counts of administering a noxious substance, authorities have stated.

The charges follow an investigation into an attack at the parking structure at Terminal 3 on Sunday. Prior to the attack, two female travelers had their luggage taken after exiting a parking garage elevator, according to law enforcement.

A three-year-old girl was among those injured during the incident. Several persons went to hospital for treatment and were later discharged.

The incident – which authorities stated was isolated and not being treated as terrorism – resulted in train delays and the temporary blocking of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the Terminal 3 car park for a short time.
